Jared Leto in Tron: Ares / Disney
The latest instalment in the Tron series, Tron: Ares, debuted as expected at the top of the UK and Ireland Box Office over the weekend, according to early figures.
The new movie, which has Jared Leto in the starring role of Ares, drew receipts of £1.79m, supplanting a one-week-only Taylor Swift album release special at the summit.
Kirk Jones’s comedic biographical film I Swear was the second new entry at three, while the final act of Downton Abbey was fourth to take its domestic gross to date to £16.9m.
