Prince William reportedly wanted his uncle Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor removed from the Royal line of succession last year.
The former Prince Andrew and former Duke of York was stripped of all of his Royal titles, and evicted from his grace-and-favour home, following more revelations about the extent of his friendship with the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew remains eighth in line to the throne, however, and despite the chances of his succession being infinitesimally small, calls have been growing for him to be officially removed from the line of succession.
According to The Times, William – first in line to the throne – is “frustrated by the delay” in removing his Uncle Andrew and has “privately expressed frustration” that the issue was not resolved last year when his titles were rescinded.
A spokesperson for the Prince of Wales and wife Catherine said: “I can confirm that the prince and princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.”
Any parliamentary action on Andrew’s place in the line of succession is likely to wait until any police investigation into potential criminal activity has concluded. Andrew has consistently denied all wrongdoing.
