The Celebrity Traitors S1 Final Five: Alan Carr, Cat Burns, David Olusoga, Nick Mohammed and Joe Marler / BBC
Tonight’s final episode of The Celebrity Traitors was accidentally made available in Canada 24 hours before its UK broadcast.
The show has aired on BBC One over the last five weeks, pulling in more than 13 million viewers, and will conclude tonight with just five celebrities still in the running.
However on Wednesday night, Canadian streaming service Crave accidentally uploaded the finale – and hundreds of Canadian viewers were able to watch it in full before it was taken down 90 minutes later when the error was noticed.
The mistake means that the result of the episode – including whether the Traitors or Faithfuls succeed – has been shared on social media.
Reports have suggested that New Zealand viewers were also able to watch the episode ahead of their British counterparts when it was also accidentally uploaded to streaming service ThreeNow.
A spokesperson for the BBC said: “We kindly ask anyone who thinks they know the outcome of The Celebrity Traitors to keep whatever they believe they know to themselves.
“Please avoid sharing potential spoilers so that the millions of fans who have been faithfully following every twist and turn of the series can enjoy the final this evening.”
The Celebrity Traitors finishes tonight at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
