Big Brother eye 2026 / ITV
The fan-favourite live feed will not return for the new series of Big Brother next month, it has emerged.
The streams were an integral part of the BB experience when the show launched on Channel 4 in 2000, with viewers able to access up to four different feeds online – and from series two in 2001, live coverage also became a staple of the E4 schedules.
When the show moved to the then-named Channel 5 in 2011, the live feeds were dropped completely – although when ITV took over as broadcaster in 2023, the feed returned, albeit in limited form.
ITVX played host to the stream each night after the spinoff show finished airing – roughly at 11pm, or 11.30pm on eviction nights – until 2am sharp, with an extended 9pm to 2am stream on Saturday nights.
The stream drew criticism from fans, however, for its frequent drop-outs of audio and video – significantly more than was deployed the last time that the stream was offered in 2010.
The move to dicth the feed altogether comes amid some cost-cutting changes to BB on ITV in 2026, including ditching Celebrity Big Brother and replacing the studio-based show Late & Live with a new visualised podcast called Big Brother: The Group Chat.
The new series launches on Sunday, September 13 on ITV2 and ITVX.
