Casa Amor bombshell Andrada Pop found herself dumped from Love Island last night after coming bottom with partner Ben Holbrough in a public vote for the favourite couples.
Shortly after leaving the villa, Andrada sat down with the press to talk about her time on the show…
How does it feel to have left the Love Island Villa?
“It was shocking because we didn’t even gather round the Firepit, we just received the unexpected text. I didn’t think that Ben and I were the weakest couple. I felt like mine and Ben’s bond was getting stronger and stronger. It’s bittersweet but I’m happy to be leaving with Ben.”
You made connections with both Dejon and Ben in Casa Amor. Talk us through your journey there.
“It’s hard to like two people and crack on with them both under the same roof. You have to be selfless and go after what you want. I had different connections with them both. Ben is the boy version of me but Dejon was like the candy that you couldn’t have. Your ego comes into play when you wonder if you could turn someone’s head. As time went on, I could see myself more and more being with Ben on the outside.”
You’ve left coupled up with Ben. Can you see things working on the outside?
“We want to see where things go because we get along very well. There’s nothing I can fault about the guy. He’s a gentleman and treats me like a princess.”
What was it like returning to the main Villa with Ben after Casa Amor?
“It was very surreal, that’s when reality hit. Shakira was coupled up with Ben but there wasn’t a romantic connection between them, so she gave me the biggest smile when I sat next to her by the Firepit after I came in which was nice. The girls were very welcoming. They said they were very happy to have us.”
What’s the vibe with you and Meg now? Is everything squashed?
“We’re good, everything is squashed. She’s such a nice girl, I don’t have a bad word to say about her. When the text came in to say that we’d been dumped, she was the first person to come up to me and hug me. She told me she’d see me on the outside. It’s nice I didn’t leave on bad terms with anybody.”
Which couple are you rooting for the most?
“I’m rooting for Harry and Helena, I hope they get stronger and stronger. I’m rooting for Lauren and Harrison too but I just don’t know his intentions. I do feel like Lauren likes him more than he likes her because of how he’s carried on. Harrison loves a bit of attention. I don’t rate a lot of the ways he’s gone about things but I hope they have just been bumps in the road for them.”
