Strictly Come Dancing: First couple eliminated

Chris Appleton and his professional partner Amy Dowden have become the first couple to be eliminated from this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The judges’ scores from the opening week were combined with their scores from last night’s Movie Week, as well as the first public vote, to determine the bottom two.

Facing off against Chris and Amy in the dance-off were actress Jaime Winstone and partner Carlos Gu, with each couple returning to the dancefloor to perform their routines again.

The judges were unanimous in their decision to save Jaime and Carlos, sealing celebrity hair stylist Chris’s fate.

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 6.15pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
