Gladiators will return for a fourth series and an all-new celebrity special in early 2027, the BBC has announced.
The format – a staple of Saturday night TV in the ’90s – has established itself as a key part of BBC One’s entertainment schedule, with the most recent series logging a 28-day average audience of 4.6 million viewers.
The new series will feature a mystery new challenge alongside established favourites Duel, Hang Tough, The Eliminator, Everest, Destruction and Suspension Bridge.
“Since Gladiators burst back onto screens in 2024, it’s been amazing to see families across the UK rally behind the contenders and champion our phenomenal Gladiators as the true stars of Saturday nights,” said Kalpna Patel-Knight, the BBC’s head of entertainment.
“With a brand‑new series confirmed and another Celebrity Special on the way, audiences can look forward to even more colossal clashes, even more edge of your seat excitement and plenty of opportunities to raise those foam fingers high once again.”
Pre-registration for tickets for the new series, which is being filmed in Sheffield this later this year, is open online now.
