Ben Leo in NYC for GB News
GB News presenter Ben Leo is to relocate to US to become one of the main anchors of the channel’s new US news show.
Next month GB News will extend its broadcasting hours by adding a new two-hour programme, airing every night from midnight to 2am UK time (7pm-9pm ET) from a new studio located near the White House in Washington DC.
Bev Turner – currently a co-anchor of Britain’s Newsroom from Monday to Thursday – will be the main presenter of the new show, The Late Show Live, on Monday nights to Thursday nights.
Leo – host of Ben Leo Tonight at weekends and co-host of Britain’s Newsroom on Fridays – will then host the show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
“It’s been my dream to work in America since I was a little boy,” said the 35-year-old, who will also contribute original reports throughout the week.
“I’m so excited to be fulfilling that now with GB News – especially under one of the most explosive and revolutionary administrations in US history.
“I’m excited to be at the heart of it as things unfold and analyse how it immediately affects what happens back home.”
GB News’ programming head Ben Briscoe added: “Ben is a rising star, and a journalist who stands out in an increasingly crowded field.
“With his tenacity, intelligence, and unwavering commitment to telling the stories that matter, Ben is fast becoming a defining voice of his generation, and a key figure in the future of GB News.
“We’re thrilled he’ll be at the heart of this historic new chapter in Washington DC.”
Replacements for the pair on their existing shows have yet to be announced.
