More details have been revealed about next week’s youth-centric episode of Coronation Street, which will feature a “sinister turn” involving drugs.
The special episode focuses on a party attended by the Street’s younger residents – Aadi (Adam Hussain), Asha (Tanisha Gorey), Amy (Elle Mulvaney), Summer (Harriet Bibby), Nina (Mollie Gallagher), Dylan (Liam McCheyne), Brody (Ryan Mulvey), Lauren (Cait Fitton) and Betsy (Sydney Martin).
After Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) accuses the youngsters of being boring, Aadi decides to throw the party – giving bad boy Brody the opportunity to earn some cash by selling LSD.
When Aadi catches him, Brody is thrown out – and then Aadi decides to share the LSD in three cups with Summer and Nina, who knock theirs back while Aadi is distracted by an incident. But when Aadi returns, he discovers that someone has accidentally taken his cup.
Meanwhile, Lauren has left the party feeling unwell and soon finds herself in “a nightmare situation”.
Later, Nina and Summer let themselves into the café still high on the LSD, feeling terrified with blue lights and sirens nearby.
The episode in question is released next Monday, June 23 at 7am on ITVX and airs at 8pm on ITV1.
