Spice Girls in the 'Wannabe' video
Talks about a possible reunion of the Spice Girls later this year have reportedly fallen through.
The five piece – Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell-Horner and Victoria Beckham – had been in discussions about a string of gigs to mark 30 years since the release of their debut single, ‘Wannabe’, in 1996.
According to The Sun, however, they failed to come to an agreement in time and the plans have subsequently been dropped.
Speaking to KIIS Radio in Australia, Mel C said: “No, there is no reunion. We are communicating all the time. We want to do something – who knows when.
“But I still feel very optimistic and I keep my fingers crossed that you will see the Spice Girls together at some point in the future.”
The group last performed together, without Beckham, for a tour of the UK and Ireland in 2019.
