Warwick Davis for Harry Potter / HBO
Warwick Davis is to reprise his role as Professor Filius Flitwick in the upcoming TV adaptation of the Harry Potter saga.
The actor first portrayed the character – one of Harry’s teachers – in the film franchise from 2001 to 2011 and is now back on board for a fresh take on JK Rowling’s book series for HBO.
The broadcaster has also confirmed the castings of several other characters, including Elijah Oshin as Dean Thomas, Finn Stephens as Vincent Crabbe and William Nash as Gregory Goyle – all fellow students at Hogwarts.
Meanwhile, Sirine Saba has been cast as Professor Pomona Sprout, Richard Durden will play Professor Cuthbert Binns and Bríd Brennan will be Madam Poppy Pomfrey.
Additionally, Leigh Gill has been confirmed to play Griphook, a role that was also played by Davis in the film series.
Filming on the show is currently underway, with the first season due to premiere on HBO Max in 2027.
