The BBC has signed a new deal keeping The Traitors and The Celebrity Traitors on air until at least 2030.
The reality show has been nothing short of a ratings phenomenon for the corporation, with the most recent civilian series achieving a 28-day average of 12.5 million viewers in January.
The BBC already had a deal for a second, 10-part celebrity series for later this year as well as a 12-part fifth civilian series in early 2027, but the new agreement also confirms series six, seven and eight of the civilian show in 2028, 2029 and 2030 respectively, as well as series three, four and five of the celebrity show for 2027, 2028 and 2029.
Kalpna Patel-Knight, the BBC’s head of entertainment commissioning, said: “We are proud to remain faithful to The Traitors and The Celebrity Traitors until 2030 and wanted to say a big thank you to the outstanding team at Studio Lambert Scotland for bringing it to screen.
“We can’t wait to share many more twists and turns with viewers all across the UK in the coming years.”
Executive producer Stephen Lambert added: “The Traitors has become a genuine television phenomenon across the world, but especially in the UK, and we’re thrilled to continue the journey with the BBC. It’s hugely exciting that audiences will have many more years of strategy, suspense and shocking twists still to come.”
The news comes as filming on the next celebrity series is due to begin imminently in Scotland.
