Ben Marshall and Harry Styles on Saturday Night Live on March 14, 2026 / NBC
Harry Styles has poked fun at past accusations that he has been “queerbaiting” during his Saturday Night Live monologue.
The 32-year-old heartthrob is hosting this week’s edition of the long-running comedy sketch show, as well as appearing as the music guest.
“[Years ago], people seemed to pay a lot of attention to the clothes I was wearing,” he told the audience. “Some people accused me of something called ‘queerbaiting’.
“But did it ever occur to you that… maybe you don’t know everything about me dad?!”
Later, joking about the qualities he likes when kissing, two female co-stars were rejected before male co-star Ben Marshall appeared next to Styles, who said: “Kissing can be fun… if you have a tight little bum. Oh hey Ben, what are you doing up here?”
“Well you said tight little bum,” Marshall replied, “so where’s my kiss?”
“Come on Ben,” smiled Styles. “You know everyone knows there’s nothing little about that thang. You’re hauling a damn wagon back there! Whatever… now come here.”
The pair then kissed before Styles turned to camera and joked: “Now that’s queerbaiting!”
Saturday Night Live US airs on Sky One in the UK and Ireland at 10pm on Sunday nights. In the US, SNL airs Saturdays from 11.35pm on NBC.
