AJ Odudu and Will Best for Big Brother 2025 / ITV
This year’s edition of Big Brother on ITV will run for eight weeks, it has been confirmed.
The iconic reality show was revived by ITV in 2023 – five years after it was axed by Channel 5 – for a six-week run, with a second six-week series following in 2024.
Last year the show was extended by one week to seven weeks to mark 25 years since BB‘s UK debut, and now this year’s series has been confirmed as running for eight weeks – most likely for 55 days, bringing it closer to the standard 64 days of the early years of the original iteration on Channel 4.
The extension is thought to be in part a compensation for the decision to drop Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year for budgetary reasons – although the spinoff still could be on the cards to return in early 2027.
Companion show Big Brother: Late & Live is thought to have been axed this year, although a new vodcast show in the vein of The Traitors: Uncloaked could replace it, with an extended live feed on ITVX also potentially on the cards.
Contestant applications remain open online for the new series, which is expected to begin in late September or early October.
