Tom Holland has reiterated his desire to introduce Miles Morales to the live-action Spider-Man MCU in the future.
The 30-year-old actor has now been playing Peter Parker’s alter ego for the last 10 years and has gradually taken more of a creative role in the franchise over time.
Miles Morales, introduced in the comic series in 2011, is a version of Spidey from an alternate universe and although he has appeared in the animated TV series, he has yet to appear in the live-action MCU.
“I think at this point in time, we’re being really open-minded about what the future looks like,” Holland told Hobby Consolas. “I know that I have aspirations to bring Miles Morales into the universe, however that works out. We’ve got a lot of work to do to bring that to life.
“But, yeah, I feel really strongly about – I feel incredibly grateful for the way I was introduced into this world and that I was shepherded by RDJ [Robert Downey Jr]. And I would love to kind of return that favour to the next generation of people that get the luxury of making these movies. So, that is definitely something that I’m really working towards.”
Holland was speaking ahead of the release of his fourth standalone movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, on July 31.
