Danny Hatchard and Maddy Hill are to reprise their roles as siblings Lee and Nancy Carter on EastEnders this Autumn, it has been confirmed.
The pair are back for fresh stints on the soap as part of Kellie Bright’s exit storyline after playing matriarch Linda Carter for 13 years.
Linda is due to leave Walford in early 2027, as is her son Johnny (Charlie Suff), leading to the possibility that all four could depart together for a new life elsewhere.
“I am SO excited to be returning to Enders for a short stint and stepping back into Nancy’s shoes (or basketball shorts!),” said Hill, who departed in June 2022 apart from a one-off appearance alongside Hatchard in December 2024 for an ‘alternate reality’ episode about Linda.
“I’ve missed her! I’m especially looking forward to seeing lots of familiar faces and acting alongside my incredible on-screen family.”
Hatchard, who left at the end of 2020, added: “I’m absolutely over the moon to be returning to EastEnders as Lee Carter. Albert Square has always felt like a home away from home, so I’m proper buzzing to be back grafting with the Enders family.”
Exec producer Ben Wadey said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have Maddy and Danny back in Walford, bringing two much-loved pieces of the Carter family back together. And whilst Linda is delighted to have her children all together again, she’s got a lot to catch up on…”
Hatchard and Hill are already back filming and their first scenes will be broadcast in the coming months.
