Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another / Warner Bros.
Dark comedy thriller One Battle After Another made a strong opening over the weekend to comfortably top the UK and Ireland Box Office.
The movie, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a former revolutionary living off grid, brought in £4.71 million to end Downton Abbey‘s three-week reign at the summit.
A re-release of Hamilton to mark the film’s tenth anniversary was second on £1.77m, while Downton Abbey was down to third with a gross to date of £13.42m.
Horror sequel The Strangers: Chapter 2 had an underwhelming debut at seven after receipts of £332k over the weekend.
