Now You See Me: Now You Don't / Lionsgate
The third instalment in the Now You See Me franchise was the clear victor at the US Box Office over the weekend, topping the chart on its first week of release.
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco and Dominic Sessa, secured $21.01m (£15.98m) over its first three days, according to provisional data.
The film beat off competition from fellow opener The Running Man – a new adaptation of the dystopian novel with Glen Powell – which managed $16.50m (£12.55m).
Predator: Badlands dropped two places to third with sales of $12.72m (£9.68m) for a total of $66.03m (£50.22m).
Elsewhere, horror film Keeper starring Kiefer Sutherland’s half-brother Rossif Sutherland opened at a lowly six with receipts of $2.53m (£1.92m).
