Marcus Donkoh for The Apprentice S20 / BBC
Age: 28
From: South London
Occupation: Barber Shop Owner
What’s your business plan?
“My plan is to scale my business, Mavade, into the first global grooming and lifestyle conglomerate, building a network of premium barbershops that redefines men’s grooming, driven by recurring revenue, low cost expansion, and strong brand equity. The model is proven, scalable and backed by a clear roadmap for London, the UK, New York, Dubai and Tokyo.”
What makes you a unique candidate?
“I built Mavade from cutting hair in my mum’s home to becoming one of the South London’s Top barber shops. I understand branding, operations and scale, and I’ve created a model that blends grooming, tech, education and lifestyle into one system. I’m not guessing my way through business. I’m proven, battle tested and I operate with long term vision. I know how to lead, innovate and build from nothing.”
Why do you deserve Lord Sugar’s investment?
“I’ve already built a profitable, award winning brand with clear pathways to national and global expansion. The economics of my model are strong, fit out costs are significantly lower than industry averages and therefore I know I can make this a success. I bring discipline, strategic clarity and a brand that is ready to scale.”
The Apprentice returns Thursday at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
