Big Brother icon Jon Tickle has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
The 52-year-old was part of the fourth series of the show in 2003 and was one of that year’s most memorable housemates in what is regarded by many fans as one of the most forgettable series of the Channel 4 era.
During his time in the house, Tickle was known for his eccentric, inquisitive nature – notably his idea for a vital improvement to the everyday toaster and his unique rendition of the classic song ‘Hotel California’.
Tickle’s housemate – and the series four runner-up – Ray Shah shared pictures of a cast reunion on Instagram alongside the message: “It has taken us 23 years but we finally got to have a big brother reunion with most of the gang.
“For those that don’t know, we were Big Brother 4…one of the OG’s.
“What a great laugh we had meeting up last night in London.
“There’s a touch of sadness to it though as Jon Tickle was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease a few months ago but fair play to Sissy, she helped get us all together 🫶
“Planning the next meet up already and we will get EVERYONE back this time ❤️ Until the next time legends”
MND is a currently-incurable, progressive disease that involves the body’s muscles gradually shutting down for which sufferers tragically have an average lifespan of two to five years from first symptoms.
