Sir Stephen Fry in The Assembly S02E01 / ITV
ITV has recommissioned its unconventional interview format The Assembly for a third series, the broadcaster has announced.
Each episode of the show features a different celebrity guest being grilled by an audience made up of autistic, neurodivergent and/or learning disabled people, with no subject off limits.
The first two series, which have featured guests including Sir Stephen Fry, Nicola Sturgeon and Danny Dyer, have reached over 10 million viewers across linear and ITVX, according to data provided by ITV.
The third series will comprise six interview episodes followed by bonus Unseen and More Unseen episodes.
“There are so many more celebrities who need The Assembly experience,” said David Smyth, ITV’s commissioning editor for entertainment and reality.
“Everyone that’s done it walks away saying it’s the best thing they’ve ever done, and the warmth we receive from fans and critics alike shows viewers agree. We can’t wait to get cracking with more.”
The new series is expected to air later this year or early next year on ITV.
