George Knight for Love Island S13 / ITV
George Knight has confirmed that he left Love Island after just a few days in order to ‘be with family’.
The 28-year-old, a footballer who hails from Winchester, entered the villa as one of the first Bombshells on day two and was key to the first twist which led to the fake dumping of two Islanders.
Soon after, however, Knight quit the show for what was described by ITV at the time as “private reasons”.
In a new post on Instagram, Knight – seemingly now back in the UK – told followers: “Family comes first, always.
“Leaving the @loveisland Villa was a decision made in order to be with my family. Out of respect for them, I’d prefer not to go into any further detail.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind messages and support! It genuinely means a lot.”
Love Island continues nightly at 9pm (10pm Saturdays) on ITV2 and ITVX.
