Louis Walsh has admitted that he would only return as a judge on The X Factor if Sharon Osbourne was also invited back.
Together with show creator Simon Cowell, the trio were the OG judges on the singing contest when it launched in 2004 – and Walsh appeared on more series than any other judge, featuring in 13 of the 15 series.
Recent reports have claimed that Cowell is working on a revival of the show for ITV in 2027 – nine years after it was axed.
Asked about his potential return, Walsh told the Irish Mail: “Only with Mrs O.”
Despite his comments and extensive history with the show, the 73-year-old is unlikely to be invited back to be part of the panel, with Cowell thought to be keen on having younger, social media-friendly personalities as judges.
ITV has yet to comment on the speculation of the show’s return.
