Deep-Heat Rivalry
London’s The Other Palace Theatre is to stage an explicit comedy parody of Heated Rivalry called Deep-Heat Rivalry.
The hugely-popular show tells the story of two rival male ice hockey players – played by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie – as they become involved in a clandestine relationship.
A synopsis for Deep-Heat Rivalry, on the other hand, reads: “In the high-stakes, high-speed world of professional ice hockey, rivalries run deep… but this one runs hotter.
“Deep-Heat Rivalry follows sworn enemies Shane Hollandaise and Ilya Stroganoff — two outrageously talented, aggressively handsome hockey superstars whose on-ice clashes are the stuff of legend. But behind the bruises, body checks, and barely concealed tension lies a secret neither man is prepared to face: they are madly, inconveniently, and spectacularly in love.
“Loosely inspired by a certain hit TV series (and we mean very loosely), this filthy new parody written and directed by Oliver-nominated Trevor Ashley, crashes together locker-room drama, forbidden romance, parody songs, and absolutely no understanding of sport whatsoever.
“Expect full-frontal nudity. Expect power ballads. Expect power plays. Expect emotional meltdowns in tiny towels. With outrageous comedy, shameless innuendo, and a score that ranges from power ballad to party pop, Deep-Heat Rivalry is less about hockey… and more about hooking up.”
The show runs from September 11 to September 27 at The Other Palace Theatre.
